My Bio
William MacTavish’s younger years were spent tromping around Europe as an Army brat, before finding his calling at the age of nine while watching “Star Wars: A New Hope;” for something like the 11th time in the theater.
He is a graduate of Stephen F. Austin State University with a Bachelors of Fine Arts degree in Cinematography.
Happily married to a “California Girl,” and the proud father of three, he has more than 21 years working experience on features, documentaries, industrials, local, national and internationally broadcast television shows, cable programming, music videos, and commercials.
In the fall of 1993, he traveled to Seoul, South Korea where he made a feature length documentary about The Church of Jesus Christ’s Seoul West Mission, its President, his family, and the missionaries, along with several training films used by the mission. He purchased a mobile camera crane in the spring of 2001 for Moving Camera Solutions.
In 2005, Mr. MacTavish joined Houston Community College, where he teaches film business and marketing, scriptwriting, lighting and grip work, cinematography, and non-linear editing.
After more than two decades of experience shooting documentaries, commercials, industrial and feature films, William MacTavish, is a skilled and talented artist and Director of Photography.
